Most shades start with a natural off-black root, so your braids look like they’ve grown out beautifully. Ombre French curl braiding hair with a natural dark root

For something bolder, T30/60, T350/613 and TP/PINK fade between two lighter or brighter shades. As a result, your braids look soft, dimensional and effortlessly grown-out. What does the “T” in T1B/350 mean?

The T stands for “tipped” or two-tone. The first code is the root colour, and the second is the colour it fades into. For example, T1B/350 starts at 1B (natural off-black) and fades into 350 (copper ginger).

How many packs do I need?

For a full head of medium knotless braids at mid-back length, most people use 4 to 6 packs. However, small braids and longer lengths need more. Order all your packs in the same colour and length, so the fade lines up on every braid. See our full French curls pack guide before you order.

Braiding tip: silky hair needs secure ends

Because this hair is so silky, it can slip if the ends aren’t sealed well. For best results, ask your braider to double or triple knot each end.

Caring for your ombré French curls

To keep the fade looking fresh and curls bouncy, refresh with mousse every few days and sleep in a satin bonnet. Wash every 2–3 weeks with diluted sulfate-free shampoo, and let your braids dry completely.
